Arrive. Stay. Become: The Sacred Rhythm of a Life Fully Lived
There is a balance between arriving; and staying in the beauty of having gotten there, before moving on to the next. So often we are so focused on achieving the next goal or reaching our potential that we fail to recognize and acknowledge how good it is or how good we are right here, right now. While growth, change, and becoming is beautiful and necessary, there is a reason why we live in the shelter of our cocoons before we emerge anew.
What is potential anyways?
Is it a statement of “not good enough” as we are in the here and now?
How do we tune into our hearts, the small voice inside that whispers when there is a bigger life waiting for us? The voice of our truth that speaks to the ways we are limiting and constricting our power, our purpose.
And how do we distinguish our true heart’s desire and truth from the messaging being delivered to us about always being more, and always being better to meet the impossible standards set forth by a society that is so completely out of touch? Out of touch with the truth of our depth of knowing who we really are and what our true capabilities are in this world.
We need to get quiet and go inside to the place of truth that exists within us all, the place where the words pour out on the page in honoring our lives as worth really living. To live and breathe feeling our aliveness in each moment. The moments of joy, and the moments of utter despair.
These are what our precious lives are comprised of.
To live in our lives is to be broken wide open time and time again to emerge with new understanding about our inner world and inner wisdom. To accept our circumstances and choose- choose to live with them, through them, and to make meaning where we can. Releasing the parts that we may never understand. To recognize with true grace that our understanding isn’t a requirement for peace. Our understanding isn’t a requirement for freedom.
Our emancipation comes when we can stop- stop seeking to understand the why and turn towards the what is. To lean into faith. The faith that our one precious beautiful life matters. That it is worth living with all its parts- the ones we understand and those parts that we never will. There may be no answers.
Go out and live your beautiful life. Arrive and stay awhile, and arrive again.
